WASHINGTON DC AREA COMMUTING SURVEY

Professors Maureen Cropper and Anna Alberini, together with Yi Jiang, are conducting a survey of commuting patterns in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The survey will be used to estimate commute miles traveled and their distribution throughout the area to aid in transportation planning. The survey, which is administered by SRBI, Inc., will randomly contact vehicle-owning households in the metropolitan area.

If you were contacted by telephone and asked to participate in this survey, please do so. Your participation in the survey is very important because you represent your household as well as other households like yours. The survey does not collect any personal information that would allow anyone to identify you. Results of the survey will be used to improve traffic management. Please call 1-888-812-9285 (ext. 4239) and schedule a time when you can complete the survey.

The survey has been approved by the University of Maryland's Institutional Review Board.  Should you have any questions about the survey, please feel free to call Maureen Cropper at 1-301-405-3483.
