Class of 2010 (Honors sequence in Fall 2009 and Spring 2010)
o Ronnie Brodsky (Senior Dillard Award). Ronnie worked with Prof. Cropper on "Can We Meet our Conservation Promises? Understanding Residential Electricity Consumption and Savings Potential at the University of Maryland, College Park."
o Zachary Ficklin (Sujan Guha Memorial Award) worked with Prof. Jin on "Daily Automobile Trip and Vehicle Miles Traveled Elasticity with Respect to Fuel Price: An Analysis Using 2001 and 2009 NHTS Data."
Class of 2009 (Honors sequence in Fall 2009 and Spring 2010)
o Anqi Fu (Senior Dillard Award). Anqi worked with Prof. Cramton on "Design and Competitive Analysis of the AWS Spectrum Auctions" and will start her Ph.D. on Economic Analysis and Policy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in the Fall of 2009.
o Athanasios Papanikolau (Sujan Guha Memorial Award) worked with Prof. Skoulakis on "Ultra Long and Short Exchange-Traded Funds." He will strat his Ph.D. in Finance at USC in the Fall of 2010.
o Alex Per, who worked with Prof. Vlaicu on "Term Limited Politicans: The Gains that Come with a Loss of Experience," will start his Ph.D. in Economics at George Washington University in the Fall of 2009.
o Siwei Kwok, who worked with Prof. Jin on "Software Exclusivity in Seventh Generation of Video Game Consoles," will start his Ph.D. in Economics at UCLA in the Fall of 2009.
o Priti Kalsi, who worked with Prof. Oates on "The U.S. Response to Global Climate Change: the Role of the States," will start her Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Colorado-Boulder in Fall of 2009.
o Seliana Kaguamba, who worked with Prof. McKelvey on "Education and HIV: Does Increased Education Prevent HIV" started her MSc in Economics at the University of Bath (UK) in the Fall of 2009. .
Class of 2008 (Honors sequence in Fall 2007 and Spring 2008)
o Julian Lamy (Senior Dillard Award.) Julian worked with Prof. Rust on "Testing Geometric Brownian Motion: An Analytical Look at the Black Scholes Option Pricing Model."
o Nate Aaron Pancost (Sujan Guha Memorial Award). Nate worked with Prof. Murell on "Industry-Level Total Factor Productivity and the Efficiency of Capital Stock Reallocation in the People’s Republic of China, 1992-9006."
o Daniel Marcin, who worked with Prof. Almon on "A Macroeconometric Model for the United States" started his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Michigan in the Fall of 2008.
o Jason Russ, who worked with Prof. Clement on "Evaluating the Performance of International Healthcare Systems: Public vs. Private Funding" moved to New York to take a job in the financial industry and start his Ph.D. in Economics at Fordham University in the Fall of 2008.
o Cyrus Aghamolla worked with Prof. Rust on "Efficient and Evolutionary Stable Bid/Ask Strategies for Double Auctions."
o Jongwook Lee, who worked with Prof. Aruoba on "The Impact of Stock Market Liberalization on Emerging Market’s Stock Price Volatility," started his Master’s Degree in Statistics at the University of Chicago in the Fall of 2008.
Class of 2007 (Honors sequence in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007)
o Robin Zhao (Senior Dillard Award).
Robin worked with Prof. Peter Cramton on "Analysis
of Bidding Behavior in L-Band Auction" and started her Ph.D. in Economics
at Cornell University in the Fall of 2007.
o Andrew Porter (Albert and Gertrude Katz Scholarship Award). Andy worked
with Prof. Evans on "Horse
Racing: the Gambler’s Fallacy and Hot Hands." Andy started his Ph.D. in Economics at UC
Irvine in the Fall of 2009.
o Rudy Henkel (Sujan Guha Memorial Award). Rudy worked with Prof. Cropper on "Has
the Metro Done its Job?" and will start his Ph.D. in Economics at the
University of Pennsylvania in the Fall of 2009 (he was also accepted at, among
others, Chicago and Berkeley).
o Zach Burroughs, who worked with Prof. Vlaicu on "The Effects of
Economic Factors on Voting Behavior," started his law degree at George Mason
University in the Fall of 2007.
o Hye Sun Kim, who worked with Prof. Vegh on "Is Foreign Capital
Beneficial in Promoting Economic Growth?" started her Ph.D. in Economics at
Georgetown University in the Fall of 2008
o Katherine Miller, who worked with Prof. Jin on "Beyond Competition in
the Retail Market for Ready-to-Eat Cereals," started her Ph.D. in Economics at UNC (Chapel Hill) in
the Fall of 2008
o Elon Plotkin, who worked with Prof. Cropper on "Can Development
Indicators Explain Well-Being? An Exploration of Data from the World Values
Survey," started his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Virginia in the
Fall of 2008
