Announcements:
×
The second midterm is in class, Tuesday, April
7. It will focus primarily on Chapters 9,10,11,13 and 14, however, material
covered before those chapters will also likely be on the test. It is closed
book, no calculators, and will consist of 40 multiple choice questions.
×
Due to a change in my teaching obligations, I
have now moved my office hours to Wednesday mornings, 11 to 12:30.
×
The first midterm results will be
posted on Blackboard when I get them back from OIT. This usually takes up to
a week. If you missed the first midterm with a University valid excuse, you
should contact your TA by email as soon as possible to arrange a makeup.
×
The first midterm is in class, next
Tuesday, March 3. It will consist of 40 multiple choice questions. It will
cover material in Chapters 1,4,5,6,7,8 of the textbook as well as any
additional material covered in lectures.
×
Because of a scheduling conflict,
Ozgun Atasoy is now leading the Discussion Session 2203 Wednesday mornings
at 9am instead of Jing Zhang. Jing Zhang will take over the Discussion
Session 2206, Wednesday afternoon at 1. The locations of the Discussion
Sessions remains the same. Only the TAs have switched and only for those
sections.
× The syllabus for the Spring, 2009 semester
is now available. Please read it carefully before committing to the course. In
particular, pay attention to the dates for midterms. The second midterm is April
7, the Tuesday before Passover and Easter though it does not conflict with
either holiday according to the University calendar. Travel decisions do not
constitute a valid excuse for missing an exam. If you feel you must be away for
travel on that date, you should not take this course.
× If you
have a valid religious excuse for missing an exam, University regulations
require that you notify me of that requirement within the first two weeks of
class outlining the reason for the conflict.
× The
course textbook is Gregory Mankiw, Principles of Microeconomics, Fifth
Edition with Aplia. The Aplia add-on is required for the course. The text
should be available at the Bookstore, however, I believe the least expensive
option is to obtain the book through the Aplia website. Here is the current
information I have from Aplia about the procedure:
