George Zuo (pronounced "zō") received his PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland in 2021 and will be working at the RAND Corporation beginning in August. His research focuses on improving economic mobility for low-income Americans, and explores topics such as broadband affordability, school discipline policies, housing, and economic development in low-income neighborhoods. While at Maryland, George studied under a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and his work has been published in the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy. Prior to his graduate studies, George worked as a senior associate in economic consulting at Deloitte and received his B.A. in Economics from Harvard University in 2013.
